Teams
ViewPeek separates two concepts: your organisation (billing entity, tenant boundary) and the teams inside it (working groups). You can belong to many teams within your organisation. Billing is per-organisation — teams themselves are free.
Quick setup
- Go to Teams.
- Click Create team, give it a name (e.g. "Ops" or "Frontend").
- Click into the team, then Add member to pick anyone in your organisation.
- Switch to the team via the topbar dropdown when you want its scope active.
Organisation vs team
An organisation is your billing entity — one Stripe subscription, one seat count, all team members. Every paid user counts as one seat regardless of how many teams they're in.
A team is a working group inside the organisation. New users created via web signup automatically get a "my team" in their organisation. Users provisioned via SCIM (SSO) get no auto-team — the SCIM group sync handles it instead.
Roles
Roles are organisation-wide, not per-team. An admin is an admin in every team in the organisation: they can create, rename, delete teams and manage memberships everywhere. A member can switch between the teams they belong to and leave teams they no longer need.
SCIM Groups (SSO)
If you're on a plan with SSO + SCIM, groups pushed from your identity provider (Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace) automatically mirror as teams with the source='scim' flag. The IdP is the system of record — ViewPeek's UI shows them as read-only.
Common questions
Can I move a user from team A to team B? Yes — admins use Move to… on the member row. Within the same organisation only.
Can I be in multiple teams? Yes — that's the point. Switch via the topbar dropdown.
Can a user belong to two organisations? Not today. Each user has exactly one organisation.
Next steps
- Set up a Slack channel — alerts route per-organisation, not per-team.
- Add seats as you invite teammates.
